Nestled in the charming town of Glynneath, The Tea Rooms beckons locals and travelers alike with its delightful offerings and warm, inviting atmosphere. This quaint café is more than just a place to grab a cup of tea; it's a treasure trove of comfort foods, crafted with love and care. Whether you’re in need of a hearty lunch after a vigorous hike or simply seeking an afternoon refuge from the hustle and bustle of daily life, The Tea Rooms provides the perfect setting.

The menu is a testament to the café's emphasis on fresh, homemade produce. Diners rave about the exquisite ploughman’s lunch, elegantly presented and generously portioned, perfect for fueling your adventures. Customers also have a soft spot for the coronation chicken filling and local cakes. The carrot and walnut cakes, in particular, are not to be missed—each bite offers a perfect blend of moistness and flavor that is sure to tantalize your taste buds.

But it’s not just the food that sets The Tea Rooms apart; it's the experience. As one visitor, Zack Johnson, recounts, stepping into The Tea Rooms felt like stumbling upon a hidden gem while seeking refuge from a long hike on Pen Y Fan. His unexpected journey led him away from fast food and into a world of cozy charm, excellent service, and delicious baked goods. It's this camaraderie and dedication from the staff, highlighted by customer Rhyannon, that instills a sense of belonging every time you walk through the door. Jo and Chris ensure that every visit feels personal, making it a beloved spot for both regulars and newcomers.

The cafe also doubles as a platform for local artisans, with craft rooms upstairs showcasing locally made products such as crocheted toys, handcrafted jewelry, and unique cards. This delightful feature not only enhances your visit but also allows you to support the community. Andrea Samuel-Jones beautifully encapsulates the essence of The Tea Rooms, noting how the warm atmosphere and carefully curated offerings make it a must-visit destination.

With plenty of friendly talk and laughter filling the air, the quaint ambiance pairs perfectly with their vibrant selection of teas, coffees, and cakes. Whether you're indulging in a sweet treat or enjoying a chat with friends, every moment spent here is steeped in warmth and hospitality.

Next time you’re in the area, whether visiting family or exploring the scenic landscapes of South Wales, make sure to stop by The Tea Rooms. You'll leave not just with a satisfied palate but with cherished memories of a delightful experience that captures the heart of what local cafés should aspire to be.

Honestly this is one of the best cafes ive been too everthing was 10/10. When i hiked last year too Pen Y Fan from Cwmafan i stopped off at glyneath and instead of going to mcdonalds i went too the tea rooms and honestly i will never forget it i strolled in not expecting how nice it was going to be and i thought oh no people are going to think im forest gump or something because i had this huge rucksack carrying all my hiking equipment but no everyone was really nice and was talking and everyone was mind blown that i was doing the hike haha but anyway it was 10/10 going there i will be coming again this year in the summer

A gorgeous find! A quaint tea shop with such a welcome and fresh, home made produce. Some craft rooms upstairs supporting local businesses such as crocheted toys, hand made cards and jewellery etc. The food ordered was plentiful, beautifully presented and delicious. My ploughman’s lunch was £7.50 so extremely well priced too. All the cakes are either made on site or made by qualified local bakers. We will certainly return again for an Afternoon Tea next time. I’d highly recommend this little gem

I’ve frequented the Tea Rooms often and just love it there. The welcome from Jo and Chris always feels personal. There’s a craft shop upstairs that offers a place for local makers and creators to sell their products - which is a great place to visit when shopping for Christmas gifts. The Tea Rooms also often run offers (with funding from the council) to ensure people have something to eat during this cost of living crisis. I have personally benefitted from a free breakfast or two in the past. They serve wonderful coffees and cakes, and the lamb cawl is simply to die for. The Tea Rooms are just something else - an independent business with heart and soul, and community vibes at its centre

By far the best tea room in South Wales. The friendly staff makes all the difference. An excellent find, we are sure to return in the future.
